How Are Prayer Times Calculated?
Prayer times are determined through astronomical calculations based on the sun’s position relative to your coordinates. The five daily prayers — Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha — each correspond to specific solar depression angles. Different Islamic scholarly bodies have standardized these angles: Fajr typically uses 15°–18° below the horizon, and Isha uses 15°–17°, depending on the authority.
